Song of the Day - Stateside by Hot Rod Circuit
August 14, 2007
First heard these guys back in 2002 and whilst I haven’t had the opportunity to listen to their new album ‘The Underground Is a Dying Breed’, I have listened to their latest single Stateside. I’m a fan, but not sure if everyone will be and as this is the green blog, may I say that I don’t support logging!

This video takes a little while to get going, and I wonder when this skill comes in useful ?
Song Of The Day - Fans by Kings of Leon

Heard this song live the other day and it blew me away. I couldn’t find a decent live version on YouTube, so here’s one to loads of clips from Family Guy for some reason. Enjoy.
Song of the Day - Better off Alone by Grinspoon
July 23, 2007
Sit back, relax and enjoy a great song.
Grinspoon are one of those little Aussie bands that have grown over the years and have a great following in Australia, but haven’t really made themselves known around the world. Good for us
Grinspoon are an Australian alternative/post-grunge rock band from Lismore, fronted by Phil Jamieson with Pat Davern on guitar, Joe Hansen on bass and Kristian Hopes on drums.
Founded in 1995, they came to fame when they were Unearthed by national, commercial-free radio station Triple J thanks to their track “Sickfest”. The band name was taken from marijuana supporter Dr Lester Grinspoon. The band has at times promoted recreational drugs during concerts and in their song lyrics.
Song of the Day - Lemon Jelly
July 14, 2007
Being a huge fan of the TV series Spaced, I recently came across this song, which I immediately recognised as the background track to the final scene of the final episode. I could only find two versions on YouTube, one which accompanied a random person’s photo collection, and a live version from last year. The photos weren’t really that interesting, so went for the live version! It takes a minute or so to get going, but stick with it. Oh, forgot to say it’s called The Staunton Lick.
Song Of The Day - Kate Nash

English singer-songwriter Kate Nash performs the track ‘Foundations’ live on BBC2’s Later… with Jools Holland. Great song!
Song of the Day - Middle Of The Hill by Josh Pyke
July 9, 2007
Something a little different from the land of Oz. Josh Pyke, someone I had personally never heard of until a few weeks ago when by brother was over, is known for his songs “Middle of the Hill” which was voted number 19 in the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2005. Great little tune, so enjoy.
It does make me think of Nizlopi and the JCB song however!
