61 Online Video Sharing Websites Reviewed In The Ultimate Guide

Life Goggles’ Ultimate Guide to Online Video, Video Quality Comparison page, Video Comparison Matrix and Free Video Sharing eBook continue to be linked to on the internet, as hundreds of new online video sharing websites have started up since they were last published.
We intend to keep updating them with the major video sharing sites only, else it would be a never ending task. Add in all the video sharing intermediary, online video search, editing, streaming, ecommerce, advertising, and professsional broadcasting sites and there are literally thousands of online video sites available to the user. We have reviewed 48 of the major video sharing websites (with a brief look at 13 video editing sites) and rated them for quality and ease of use. What BigBrainBoy called “easily the most useful thing we’ve seen online in a long time“.

Good overview but several mistakes - e.g. Spymac is all about revenue sharing, they give 50% of their advertising revenue to the top users of each month!

Thanks for your comment. However giving revenue to the top users doesn’t make the grade in our opinion as it’s not available to all, it’s a prize/contest rather than complete revenue sharing. We’re happy to correct any other errors if you let us know what they are.

What is the best transcoding settings for MSN Soapbox? Like file type (.avi, .wmv, or .mp4), bit rate (cbr or vbr) and resolution?
I would say .wmv as it’s a Microsoft site, though I’ve noticed very little difference between .avi and .wmv, I haven’t tried .mp4. Bit rate and resolution are really up to you, the best quality input usually gives the best quality output, I like to optimise my videos with quality settings so that the file is around the max file size the sites allow you to upload.
Awesome list, it must have takens forever and a day to compile it. It will come in very handy for me as I am starting some video viral marketing for a few of my web sites.

The idea of providing a video site with examples off the video quality to compare, is brilliant as you can see that the encoding varies but it still remains that FLV/Flash embeds.
The Matrix shows the features the site logos, online storage info, whether or not if they adshare or pay you great overview.
