Speed cameras on the M42 can read your number plate

In a fantastic development of Big Brother, the M42 motorway in England not only flash when a speeding motorist passes, but also displays their number plate. The road management system on the M42 already includes various experimental traffic management systems and this seems to be the latest attempt to get motorists to slow to the legally posted speed. I imagine it works quite well!
