Why You Should Always Carry A Camera With You

January 10, 2007 · Written by Joel

Whilst I applaud people who have the bravery to cycle the streets of London to and from work (I walk), I desperately wished I had a proper camera with me the other night. My mobile phone picture didn’t turn out, so I shall describe it to you.

I was leaving the office on a dark, cold wintery night. The rain and wind was biblical, nay apocolyptic. Discarding my broken umbrella and reverting to the classic “head down, fast feet” technique of keeping dry, I looked up to see a glorious sight. A hardy gentleman riding a bike struggling to keep his balance. Quite sensibly he was wearing a bike helmet, but one of those ones with holes in. To solve the problem of his head still getting wet, he had “enhanced” it with a shower cap. Sheer brilliance.

Whilst it is not an unusual idea, the sheer absurdity of it made me laugh because he was absolutely soaked everywhere else. Actually, might be a very good idea. Now I just need something to keep my suit trousers dry….
